Understand shared tote capacity, safety buffers, held reservations, and unavailable asset states.
Shared tote mode
In shared-totes mode, packages draw from a common tote quantity instead of acting as isolated physical pools. Set total tote quantity and an optional safety buffer. If you rent dollies, set their shared quantity and buffer separately.
- Enter real owned capacity
Use deployable inventory, not a marketing maximum.
- Reserve a buffer
A buffer keeps the final units from being promised, helping cover loss, damage, cleaning, or count variance.
- Choose pending behavior
Publishing decides whether pending requests soft-hold shared capacity.
- Test an overlapping date range
Use the public or operator availability flow with dates that overlap a known reservation.
What reduces availability
Reservations in held states commit inventory; quote, cancelled, and completed do not. Assets in picked up, cleaning, maintenance, missing, damaged, or retired states are unavailable. The calculation is date-range aware.
